I've been here before... but Hello!

Introducing myself always seems so formal and that isn't what I want this space to be but I guess I have to start somewhere, so, here it is.

If I'm being really honest, I really don't have the time for a blog but I've come to learn that writing is such a great form of therapy for me. An outlet where I can just get it all out. I had a blog once before, that I loved, and I wish I could pick up where I left off but it was a paid website and I wasn't going to pay for a website I wasn't using so... it's gone. 

But anyways, I do some other fun things, like running a non-profit but I'm not going to co-mingle the two because I'd like some anonymity from that for the time being. I have 7 kids total. From age 1 up to age 16. They are literally all spaced about 2-3 years apart but the universe thought it would be fun to have the last 2, 15 months apart, so that's been fun. 

I have 2 kids with autism. One is high functioning and one in almost 5 and nonverbal... only... I'm not sure I should even use that term anymore with what he's been doing these past couple months. I'm overwhelmed, overstimulated, and overworked. Ok, that was way more dramatic than it needed to be but somewhat accurate, so I'll leave it. 

I'm hoping this blog will not only be an outlet for me but a place for other people to come and feel like they aren't alone. I chose the name 'Normal From the Outside" because I feel like things can look normal and okay from the outside but there's a whole lot more going on than others may realize that I want to share. Things aren't always okay, shoot.. I'd be inlined to say they're usually more on the not okay side lately and I'm learning to be okay with that. It's a part of life. It doesn't have to all be good or all bad. But anyways, I'm excited to be here in this space and share whatever it may be with you all!
